Brenan is an architectural engineer. Architectural engineers design building systems such as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, structural systems, envelopes, fire protection, sustainability ,and more. He focuses on MEP systems. He works for Engenuity, an engineering firm focused on building relationships, not just design documents. Brenan serves the team as an entry-level designer and building engineer while holding several green building credentials. He also leads others in organizations such as American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI), and Missouri Gateway Green Building Council.
