Alyssa Sooklal, P.E., ENV SP, M.ASCE is a Senior Project Engineer in the Environmental practice area of Barton & Loguidice in Annapolis, MD. Her past and current work experience includes stormwater management, drainage design, erosion & sediment control design, stormwater management inspections, construction oversight, 1D/2D H&H modelling, feasibility studies, green infrastructure design, and other duties of engineering design, inspection, and construction. Alyssa earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering with a secondary major in Spanish and a minor in Earth & Planetary Sciences from The Johns Hopkins University. She holds a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Delaware, and Pennsylvania, and is a Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP).
In addition to being an Eastern Geographic Member of ASCE's Committee on Younger Members, Alyssa is the ASCE Maryland Section's Vice President for the 2025-2026 term, and Chair of the Professional Objectives Committee of the Maryland Section. She has served on the executive board of ASCE Maryland Younger Member Group for many years, including as President for the 2023-2024 term. Alyssa was selected as the Young Civil Engineer of the Year by ASCE Maryland in 2022, and a New Face of Civil Engineering by ASCE National in 2024.
